Is this my fandom icon?

I've been binging on Critical Role for the last week or so.

It's kind of interesting. My fandoms and my favorite shows tend to be pretty disconnected. I find fandoms first, and then maybe if I'm in the fandom for long enough I'll get around to watching the source material. When I watch a show first, I usually don't feel much of an urge to check out fanworks.

This time though I've been looking for fanfic....

And it's pretty grim.

The one saving grace is that the fandom is small enough that old stuff hasn't been swamped by new stuff. So I keep coming across posts and author's notes written from before [BIG SPOILER], and I'm like... "oh no, oh honey, oh ...."

Yeah, CR doesn't have a lot of great fic. (Also I'm annoyed that season 1 and 2 share the same AO3 tag.) I did find some that I enjoyed though, mostly shorter stories - what are you interested in?

I'm pretty open. I like all the characters in the party. I guess I'm particularly interested in ... interactions? Bonding moments? Romantic or not. But really, any fic that someone else thinks is good is something I'll give a shot, especially in a small fandom.

I guess my one restriction is that I don't particularly like most modern AUs.

I might have some stories bookmarked, I'll take a look, but for now you could check out the stories by sabinelagrande. I'm particularly fond of The Traveler Is My Co-Parent.

(I've seen this icon somewhere before and I heard the quote is a reference to a legendary badfic, I have to admit I'm almost kinda curious ^^ )

It's been so long that I don't remember where I got this icon, or whether I made it or not.

There was this author who went by in "Sephiroth" in Gundam Wing fandom in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She would just crank out chapter after chapter of this incredibly perfunctory badfic. Each chapter would be incredibly short. Each paragraph would be a sentence long, aach chapter would have only a few paragraphs, and each story would only be a few chapters. Most of them were untitled.

This quote is from A Panther/Duo Fic, her most famous.

If you don't mind the premise, which is that Duo is raped by a panther and gives birth to half-human/half-panther cubs, I found an archived copy here. You can finish it in a couple of minutes.
