Netflix's Blown Away was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be. It has a lot of the same things I like about The Great British Bake-Off: People with an interesting skill I don't have trying to win a competition without a lot of manufactured drama or fancy production.
Glassblowing is fun to watch!
Deborah got on my nerves. I liked most of her work, but she kept making snide comments implying the others lacked artistic merit. It made her look bad and was a sour note in what otherwise seemed like a pretty positive environment.
And it irked me that she did this while talking up how she is a feminist and a "fierce female" glassblower. I feel like it made feminists look bad. I know that's seeing her as a representative of feminism is a problem, but the thing is ... people will.
The potatoes were great though.
